Upcycling, also known as creative re-use, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, and useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products perceived to be of greater quality, such as artistic value or environmental value.
At Masstrans, we work on the principle of a circular economy where waste is recycled into new products. We recycle landfill plastic into Park Benches, Student benches, Tree Guard, Compound fences, Industrial Pallets, and Bollards. The furniture is made from 100% recycled plastic which diverts plastic waste that would have been destined for a landfill or ocean.
Under the National Clean Air Program (NCAP), innovative ideas for creating awareness of air pollution and waste recycling were recently implemented at five gardens of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in Pune city. Masstrans has collaborated with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on the Waste-to-Wonder Scheme.
Park benches, created from recycled plastic waste, were installed at the five gardens: Kamala Nehru Park Erandwane, Tukai Mata Udyan (Joggers Park) Sinhagad Road, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Udyan Near Sanas Ground, Ram Manohar Lohia Udyan Hadpasar and Late Galande Udyan (Joggers Park) Kalyaninagar.
These park benches include 3 Seater Recycled Plastic bench and 3 Seater Recycled Plastic bench with a planter. In addition, Masstrans also created and installed Murals from recycled plastic in the shape of Flowers in a Pot and a Pet bottle, having lighting strips to make these look attractive.
Please visit any of these locations to see and enjoy these solutions made out of recycled plastic waste.
